Nice one, altough start and end might be a little confusing for those who haven’t seen last weeks episode’ end. Might have been better to reshoot the end, be it only Voice Over.

    btw what was the glitch?

  • hatchery_

Nice supplemental ;-) Developer interviews are always my favorite.

So, the J-Man works on the crafting revamp? Sweet!! Seriously, what could be better? <3

  • CedricO

it seems like the discussion could have gone better if there wasnt an audience around and a fear of them using the exploid should you explain it in depth. lol..

I really like the show, but Chris, you need a live co-host, and not someone over skype.  Your a very intelligent guy, but you also need balance and someone to play off of.

I noticed the ship in the video has 4 of the same tac consoles. Do their abilities stack?

At the time of taping there was apprehension around the risk releasing details on an active exploit and the possibility of being banned. Al coming on was last minute and it helped to alleviate the stress slightly

Ya this pretty much was a direct cut from 106 with slight tweaking, i did not preview the 107 editorial post touch-up. but we should be live and back to regular sched for 108.

The delay in release of the segment was a small repeating graphical anomaly that had to be masked with the blue Lcars interface.

    Yes

We are always getting this comment and simply put the logistics at this time do not make it possible to have a local in studio co-host. We have hammered out ideas but at this time the method we are using works best.

the outro was a bit off the mark telling us that there is no (live)show next saturday, it was actually the last saturday that had no liveshow because this was recorded 2 weeks ago,
next Saturday there will be one again (at least i hope so ;P )

btw. loved that LCARS screen :)

It’s kinda sad that if anyone posts any type of exploit in the forums to bring it to the attention of the Dev team and those being exploited with it, they get banned. I understand that you can send in a support ticket but lets be real, do they really read and respond in detail, doubtful from my past experience with STO. I mean look, it took this show to get them to realize this problem existed…

  • Arnoldpoindexter

is that just tac consoles or all the consoles.

  • http://twitter.com/Asmick_JF Thomas Cruz

To quell any doubt we should be live this Saturday 12-17-11 for taping of Ep 108

  • AGNT009

Just when you want to get discouraged about something Cryptic does, Im reminded that we have our Inside Man fightin for the people! Thank You Tron! Keep on saving the universe!

  • AGNT009

People get over it already. The Skype cohosts are just fine. Enjoy the show.

  • Gerd Gawlich

tac consoles are the only ones that stack 100%

  • PvPer

The shown Voldemort exploit is just the tip of the iceberg, there is much more below the surface, like ships with double Commander boffs e.g. …

After watching this and listening to Al, I wonder if there is anybody at Cryptic that really cares and is in charge of fixing such things.

PVP is dying with thoes kind of major flaws and I feel sad to have to state this. That exploit, like others has been around for months now. Just like the original Voldemort, the one the pvp community made public on the forums again and again to get the attention and get it fixed asap. The one that could not be named or written about without getting banned and the one that got fixed pretty fast after that outrage on the forums.
An example of how mighty that first Voldemort was can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OIcTYxGv4U  (no, it doesn’t include a ‘how to’)

    Anyway.

It seems to me the little time that cryptic had to adapt the existing engine to the STO setting led to a lot of coding problems, which is understandable and no big deal to me.

The problem is the way Cryptic handles or handled these things.
Tickes have reportedly been written and nothing happend.
Players also didn’t get any kind of non copy and paste reply.

People did often chat about it ingame (tribble test server or organizedpvp chat channel), but apparently no dev or employee was around or was around and didn’t notice or worse.
With no results and not even a feedback you of course try to find another way to get it right.
These have been the forums in the past, in despite of the danger of getting banned.
Now it’s been on this show.
    Thank you guys.

It is my belief that cryptic really have to come up with a way to quickly get to know these kind of things and fix them.

Banning the people on the forums won’t help anything. Thoes who know can spread the word in other ways and will do so.
The only message Cryptic states by doing this is “We don’t want you to tell anybody. Everything is fine.”

Crypic should encourage players that come up with such things and deliberately want to inform the company, so it can improve the game experience for everyone, instead of taking advantage of it themselves.

I have nearly given up on this game. Most people I know are really frustrated with the current situation and since TOR will be released soon they will switch over to that game and do pvp there. It’s not space pvp, but it at least it’s sci-fi… even if it’s the setting of the arch-enemie.

    Thanks for responding.

Wow great episode. Really liked watching Al’s expression as you all showed him what the PvPers have actually been talking about. You were polite, respectful and let you evidence speak for you. Perfect way to hold someone’s feet to the fire.

Woooot J-Man! Keep up the good fight boss. Lookin forward to seeing what will come of crafting.
