    Hi Chris,
    I also suffer from sleep apnea and wear one of those Darth Vader masks. One of the benefits for me was that it gave me more energy so I could exercise more, thus helping me to lose weight meaning that I could stop using the mask sooner. :) Haven’t gotten there yet, but working on it. Good luck with your Paleo diet!

    I also have sleep apnea. When I went to the doctor and doing testing and was 75-90 breathing pause per hour. Got a bilevel and a full face mask. It went down to 15-20 breathing pause per hour. So we’re setting the bilevel. Have had it for 8 months now and terrified hard to sleep with the mask on.

    Chris I also have sleep apnea and the mask does help alot I have used it for like 5 years. I also am trying to lose weight too and it should help with sleep apnea but skinniy people also have sleep apnea and use the mask.

    first thank this in-depth look was highly informative, second free-space is one of the best space combat Sims ever. I own all three games of the trilogy and wish they would make a fourth, i got back around early 2000′s when i was in 8th or 9th grade.

    mmhmm something about sleeping and breathing issues. Hope you get well soon.
    BUT OMG do do I love Freespace, its the only reason I still got that 15 year old joystick . There a community around the Opensourced code from FS2 http://www.hard-light.net/ that improved the graphics, made better ship models and plenty more content. So buy FS2 from gog.com, get the more better good client from hardlight ( with multiplayer support as obviously the original network has vanished) use data from your bought game, slap on the prettier shipmodels and bam! game that can even impress modern graphics standards.

    put linux on your breathing machine. that way the unstable ABI/API and the buggy updates would keep you all night on google marathons to fix them.

    Hello Chris,

    I too have sleep apnea and have used a mask for six years.  I can’t hardly sleep without it now.  And don’t listen to everything Dr.’s have to say…  they blame everything on smoking, being overweight and high cholesterol levels (that bar keeps getting lowered). But keep the mask..it’s the best treatment I ever got from a doctor; really improved my quality of life!
