Rethinking Sugar | Unfilter 7

Rethinking Sugar | Unfilter 7

Put down that soda and pour yourself a glass of water, because we’re looking at the Sugar problem in our three act show today.

We unfilter the headlines, including:
- A major victory for head of MegaUpload,
- The Domestic Drone Boom
- And how lawmakers game the system, to make a lot of money.

Then: We look at the data that suggest sugar might be nearly toxic for us, and ask if there is any chance the world can change its sugar coated ways.

Plus: It’s your feedback, and a little reminder exactly what is wrong with the main stream media.

They want to call corn syrup, sugar, as corn syrup as been known to have mercury and other heavy metals in it, so they want to give it a natural name.

Comon guys, lets stop confusing Europe and the UK, here in the UK we used £ pound sterling, and we are the only ones, so don’t say Europe will pay £20 as well they won’t, simple as.

    Great show otherwise guys.

Chris hit it right on the mark with the return of fat. Yeah, its not the best but it will keep food cheap for the people who are barely getting by.

As for the megaupload news, that sounds like the gaming company Steve Jackson Games. In the 90′s they were making a supplement for their G.U.R.P.s system for its cyberpunk world that included rules for hacking, in the game that is. So the secret service came in and hauled out everything they could. The company got set back about a decade over lost revenue and the secret service ended up losing all of the lawsuits.

Two things I want to add to the sugar/diet topic:

    1) Many people confuse hunger and thirst. Some eat when they are thirsty. Some drink soda when they are hungry. The best way to prevent this is to make sure that you’re not thirsty before you start eating and if you’re thirsty only drink water or tea.

    2) The human body can also exists some time without food. Long periods are harmful, but short periods can gives the body the opportunity to burn some fat. The 10in2-Diet and the Warrior-Diet for example use this fact.

The question is not if the world can live without sugar -  the question is if you as an individual can? My answer is of course yes you can, you can flourish without it, at least regarding the processed white sugar. The second question is if you want to? That question only you can answer.

Glad you’re helping spreading the truth about sugar. Since 1,5 years, I have cut out most sugar (and other carbohydrates) from my diet, and I feel better than ever. I have never been overweight, meaning I don’t do this to lose weight (although I did).

Also remember that all carbohydrates, not just sugar, causes insulin production. That means you should not avoid just sugar, but also things like potatoes, pasta, rice and bread.
