Why the swich to the Youtube player.

  • ChrisLAS

You’re just a bit early for the WebM version to finish encoding. Once it’s done, I swap in the HTML5 player!

I take it you prefer the HTML5 player over YouTube? What strikes you as a difference between the two?

    Hej Chris,
I prefer the html5 player for a couple of reasons:
*It just looks way better than the youtube player
*i have flash disabled by default so for me to use the YouTube player i would have to enable flash for this site.
*The environment just loves me for saving cpu cycles by not using flash
*Fullscreen in the html5 player is much slicker. Especially if you have two monitors.

I don’t think it was mentioned, but Adobe Edge Code is based on the Adobe Brackets, open source and on GitHub: https://github.com/adobe/brackets
Not sure if Adobe has plans to improve the editor itself or just add some services/tools around it.

    Good to know! Thanks :)
