Subject: Linux guru talks about the linux desktop

Message: Hey guys, thanks so much for all the shows you do. Check out this video I found of Linux! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpDdGOKZ3dg

Name: James S
Subject: Switched to an Arch-based distro

Message: I recently made the jump to Parabola GNU/Linux (essentially Arch, but using the Linux-libre kernel and FSF supported) and I am very glad that I did. I now have the latest packages available at my fingertips and I don’t have to worry about support running out. I’m not going to lie, I was skeptical about installing an Arch-based distro (being a Debian/Ubuntu/Trisquel guy for the past… I don’t know how many years), but the experience of going through and installing an Arch-based distro from the ground up was worth it.

And one last thing… systemd… this init system is so freaking easy to use. I know what the hype is all about now. Love it. Love it. Love it.

Oh, and one final thing (I promise), I am enjoying using Gnome as my desktop environment after using i3 for a while.

Great show. Keep it up.
