Hang on, so Microsoft wants me to pay for someone else's f'd up computer because they're too big to fail? Hey, if they asked for every citizen be mandated to own a Microsoft PC too they'd have a health care bill.

Guys, you jumped the gun a bit on declaring the Novell deal as being “JUST APPROVED”. Would you cite your source on this? So far there has been an offer, and a lot of speculation. But as far as I can tell, no approved deal.

I was talking on Twitter and on other forums how Novell would be a great fit for IBM. SUSE runs great on their platforms and it would bring some much needed Linux expertise to IBM. IBM has a lot of mixed messages and redundant products: XIV, Nseries, Vmware on x86 vs virtualization on Power, one sales guy tells you Oracle runs great on P7, the other wants you to migrate to DB2 so there would be a lot of dilution.
Another shot against IBM, check this:

Thats what you get when you try to install a sales tool to configure high end IBM servers and storage.
Also look at this:

If you are an IBM partner, YOU MUST USE IE to submit Partner Plans
And thats not all!

To export spreadsheets from IBM's Standalone Solutions Configuration Tool you MUS have Microsoft Office installed, not Open Office, or IBM's fork, Microsoft Office. Heck, they even have internal spreadsheets that only work from Excel.
I'm an IBM partner who promotes open solutions and uses mostly Linux so this annoyances and mixed messages irk me. Maybe the injection of Novell's people and products could help big time

Great episode.
I was laughing for about ten minutes on the 'Internet Usage Tax'. I was watching the video version, and I lol'd on your acting when you were talking about this idea.
I want to watch more hilarious episodes of LAS, so keep up the good work guys. Cheers.

LAS is back. Awesome! I liked CAS, but I have to admit I didn't watch the show as regularly.

Remember SUSE can survive without Novell like it did since 2003/2004
