I was a pit usept that the UI guy for Palm that headed up WebOS left, as I am owner of a Pre and one of the reason I got the phone was because of the UI, and not to mention WebOS is just awesome. But since he left to head of Android UI I can say that for sure they need it. One this that has going again Android is it's looks to generic, and with this dude that might change.

Edit: Oh BTW if you see HaikuOS in your google analytics, that's me. ;)

During these past shows the content seems very centred on mobile phones whether it be android, meego or otherwise.

Could you guys please consider cutting a little back on it ? I get that some people have these phones or are in the market for something, but it seems best left for those who specifically concern themselves with mobile phones – and more importantly, it detracts from what ought to be your main concern – LINUX!

The fact that android technically runs Linux, or that meego is also isn't all that interesting, both things require specific hardware and in many ways can't be compared to what most people would categorize as a Linux system. (package-management, terminal, kde/gnome/*box etc..)

Totally disagree when you said Nokia should dump Symbian. Yes they could squeeze Meego into the literally 100s of millions of low end smartphones that Nokia sells every year but that would just lower peoples opinions of what a Meego phone is. Symbian in almost every-way except for the UI is the most modern resource lite smartphone OS around. Its UI sucks but from what I've seen they know that and are (slowly) sorting this out.

It might seem confusing to people that a company is behind two OSs but really I see this as a good thing. On the one hand they can build the cheap low powered Symbian smartphones for the masses and on the other build the super powered meego pocket computers for those wanting the extra power. Where this all comes together is with QT which should mean with only minor porting we can have apps that work across the platforms.

Hey does anyone remembers the recent episode where Chris is eating a lemon pie and Bryan comments on it? I cant remember which one it was and I found that so funny I want to show it to my brother.
